"The history of the Maison de la Forge dates back to the 16th century, when it served as a place of production for the blacksmiths of Belcastel. Over the centuries, the building has been used for different activities, ranging from the production of lime to the manufacture of shoes. In 1978, the municipality decided to transform the house into a museum to preserve the industrial heritage of Belcastel. Today, the Maison de la Forge has become an essential place to discover the history of the industry and admire the collections of tools and machines on display."
